Job Title: Head of People Operations

About the Company

Our client is a dynamic and innovative payment service provider based in Latvia, specializing in delivering tailored payment solutions. With a focus on secure, efficient, and scalable payment processing, their team helps businesses to optimize their transaction workflows and enhance conversion rates across various markets and regions.

About the role

As the Head of People Operations, you will be the backbone of our people-centric initiatives, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and a positive work environment. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, and act as a trusted advisor to both employees and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Management: Oversee HR, Office Administration, IT Admin, and IT Security departments. Manage a team of 2-5 people across these areas.
  • HR Operations: Manage day-to-day HR tasks, including contracts, compliance with labor laws, and employee documentation.
  • Team Development: Organize and optimize team workflows, ensuring everyone is aligned and productive.
  • Employee Experience: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, addressing employee concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to local labor laws and regulations (Latvia-specific knowledge is a must).
  • Recruitment Support: Collaborate with the recruiter to streamline hiring processes and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Strategic Thinking: Contribute to long-term people strategies, including retention, performance management, and career development.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in HR or people operations. A background in fintech or payments is a plus but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage strong personalities in IT/security teams.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels, including C-suite.
    • Strong HR background required, with ability to navigate labor laws.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Calm under pressure, with an internal sense of resilience.
    • Mature and experienced, with a strong understanding of human dynamics.
    • Empathetic and people-oriented.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • English: Intermediate level (for document preparation and communication).
    • Latvian: Fluent (for understanding and applying labor laws).
    • Russian: Fluent (Russian-speaking team).
