Position: Chief / Senior Accountant

Role Overview
Join a dynamic fintech company as a Chief Accountant, where you will play a critical role in managing the accounting department and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. This position is ideal for a skilled professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is eager to contribute to the growth of a cutting-edge fintech company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounting operations for the entire group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and international standards.
  • Handle regulatory and authority reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Manage tax-related matters and continuously evaluate and improve internal accounting processes.
  • Contribute to annual statutory audits and automation projects related to product development.
  • Lead payroll accounting outsourcing projects and prepare financial, annual, and operational reports.
  • Collaborate with regulators and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Provide analytical data and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting within international companies, particularly in the e-commerce industry.
  • Higher education in accounting, economics, or finance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Latvian and international (preferably UK) financial and tax legislation.
  • Experience in selecting and implementing accounting software best practices.
  • Strong communication and team management skills, with a proactive approach to standardizing processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and accounting software.
  • Fluency in English and Latvian.
